Each year, Oak & Ember identifies nonprofit partners whose work meets important community needs and whose impact can grow through funding, visibility and stronger connections.
How We Select Partners
We look for organizations serving people in the Triangle and surrounding communities, with responsible leadership, a clear mission and needs where Oak & Ember's support can make a meaningful difference. The board reviews each candidate's programs, finances and community standing. When available, that review includes Form 990 filings and independent charity profiles.
We also consider what our network can contribute beyond a grant. Some partners may benefit from introductions, donated services, new volunteers, event exposure or access to businesses willing to support a specific need.
